Older men are more likely to give women head study suggests
Some things really do improve with age. Such is the case with men and the chances of them performing oral sex on a woman, since a new study carried out by Cosmopolitan and SKYN condoms showed that men become more interested and comfortable with oral sex as they grow older. In fact, the statistics uncovered around cunnilingus might surprise you!
The study showed that a measly 37% of men aged 18 – 22 perform oral sex on women and that 50% of men aged 18 – 27 “prefer having sex than performing oral.”
The study concluded that a huge portion of men were unlikely to perform oral sex in their early 20s in part due to a poor sex education system as well as hook-up culture which favours brief encounters that focus on orgasm and not on physical pleasure. It’s true too that as the study suggests, there are precious few examples of going down on women in popular culture and cinema. In some ways younger men don’t do it because they don’t see it around them and don’t know what to do!
The good news? Well 51% of men aged 33 and over thought they could make their partner orgasm via oral sex and so were more likely to perform it. This, the study suggested, came out of a sense of being more comfortable and informed about cunnilingus and of course vaginas! It also came out of a sense of confidence around sex and orgasming.
So, ladies and younger men listen up! Find some renewed respect for middle-aged men because that’s where it’s at! Ageing like fine wine appears to be more than just a saying…
