Next to a travel bucket list, a sexual bucket list is probably the most common thing we spend our free moments daydreaming about. You wonder if you’ll ever have the courage to ask your significant other to try the kinky position you’ve always wanted to try or you hope you’ll meet the right person who’ll show you the ropes (see what we did there) to a certain sexual practice.
In fact the notion of a list of sexual acts you want to tick off before you kick it is so common that lube manufacturer Pjur decided it was time to get to the bottom of it. They interviewed over 2,000 Americans to find out exactly what type of sexual acts men and women hope to someday get round to!
Pjur found that 64% of people surveyed admitting that they kept a species of bucket list at the back of their mind. Among these, there were three clear front runners in terms of the most-often fantasised about and recorded as being at the top of people’s bucket lists.
Number one on the sexual bucket list was ‘sex in a car’ which 30% of respondents had on their list. 27% of people had ‘sex in a body of water’ on the list and ‘using a sex toy’ came up for 25% of them. And in fourth place came ‘anal sex’ o which 25% of respondents said they would like to try before it’s too late!
Of course the answers varied somewhat between genders. For men, ‘anal sex’ was more common, coming in at third place on their bucket list, whilst women rated using a sex toy as their number 1!
Men also were interested in ‘making a sex tape’ whilst women tended to prefer the idea of a ‘sexy photoshoot’. Women also overall seemed to rate BDSM related play more than men, whilst men were more interested in threesomes and one night stands.
The nice thing that the study revealed was that for the most part people’s bucket lists are fairly achievable! I mean there is nothing to stop anyone from waiting around on the beach until everyone’s gone or sneak down a quiet alleyway in your car…
So basically seize the day and get cracking on your bucket list!
